I am betting that the majority of Twitter users couldn’t careless that that searching Twitter for anything past the last few minutes and really the only one’s who even care about Twitter’s search ability, which sucks lemons really, are power users, tech writers, and of course the marketers.

The problem is that when it comes to searching Twitter you are lucky if the service will return any results older than a week, and that is if you are lucky. For marketers this is a problem as there is a lot of data within Twitter that they could use for whatever reason but it’s locked away.

Well lucky for them that is about to change, and while there is no word on how expensive the access will be it seems that UK-based DataShift has cut a deal with Twitter that will grant it access to the complete Twitter fire hose of data. This access will let DataShift pull data from Twitter from the last 24 month period – a veritable treasure trove of information and data that they can then turn around and sell for very big money.

Oh, did we say – that is you information that you have been innocently sending around the world via Twitter for the past year. Yup every single word, every single thought, and every single link that you and all the other millions of Twitter users have been spewing forth without a second thought is now fodder for marketers. Included with this fire hose is the profile information of every single Twitter user as well.

Wait …. I think I just heard a huge cry of joy in the distance.

Yup, it was the marketers.
