Are you currently reading this article on the Safari browser of your iPhone 4 ? If so, you are one of the lucky 25 million people who will be receiving either a free case or a free $15 for that pesky antenna issue you may or may not have noticed.

Apple recently settled announced that they are in the process of settling a lawsuit that actually combined 18 different class action lawsuits in relation to the antenna problems with the iPhone 4. According to David Murphy with PCMag.com, the lawsuit was named “Antennagate,” due to Apple, “concealing material information in the marketing, advertising, sale, and servicing of its iPhone 4—particularly as it relates to the quality of the mobile phone antenna and reception and related software.”

For those not familiar with this issue, the signal problems occur when the user holds the phone in certain ways, bridging a gap in the metal sides of the phone. The issue, called the “death grip” can actually cause the phone to lose all signal, so no text messages or calls can be made. The case that Apple is offering for the settlement acts as a “bumper,” and is supposed to solve this problem.

IPhone 4 users will have 120 days to file their claim at the soon-to-be live website: www.iphone4settlement.com. Emails will soon be sent to all iPhone purchasers from the launch of the phone, up until February 17 th , 2012.

Ira Rothken, co lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the lawsuit states that the final approval hearing is scheduled for July 13 th , but previous purchasers of the iPhone 4 should be able to start their claims on April 30 th .

So, iPhone 4 users, get ready for your freebie from Apple, beginning April 30.
