Chris Harrison sat down with Andi Dorfman on the “Chris [Soules] Tells All” special. It was an emotional interview, with Andi crying immediately , according to E! Online. The break-up was made public after the premiere of the new season of The Bachelor last month.
She said that the decision to break up wasn’t made suddenly and that she and Josh had been “struggling for a while.” According to US, the 27-year-old former Assistant District Attorney stressed that the decision to end the engagement wasn’t made overnight and that no official decision was made before the premiere of this season’s The Bachelor . Still, she noted that she knew that choosing Josh Murray during her season of The Bachelorette last season was the right one. According to E! Online , Andi stated the following.
“I didn’t even think I knew. I didn’t even think I found the one, I didn’t think I found my soul mate. I knew it. I was 100 percent sure, I knew, even after the crew packed up and left. I just remember we had the house and we couldn’t get away from each other. We just laughed and had fun and cooked. I knew I had made the right decision. It affirmed that I made the right decision. I can envision sitting on his lap just laughing and joking and not caring about how people were sickened by how in love they were.”
Andi called the break-up the “biggest failure of [her] life” and said that she was sorry that she disappointed the many people who were rooting for their relationship to work. As was cited on E! Online, Dorfman spilled the reasons for the break-up with Murray.
“You know, we went to the live premiere and I think hearing people ask about wedding dates and seeing the other happy couples and people planning weddings, we had to ask ourselves why we’re not planning a date and people who were engaged after us have a date. That was very eye opening.
“We were both very aware of the fact that we just didn’t better each other. I didn’t feel supported and empowered and I don’t think I gave him the support and empowerment that he needed. When you have two very passionate, very strong personalities in one house and nobody can back down and nobody is the calming force for one another, it’s a lot of tension in one house.”
When asked by Harrison whether they would get back together and be a couple again, she stated that she didn’t know, but said she hoped they would at least remain friends. She stated that, despite the heartbreak, she was grateful for the experience and that it changed her life forever.
