Cable station Showtime has announced the launch of a new iPad app known as Showtime Anytime. Using the program Showtime subscribers can receive on-demand access for select TV shows and movies.
According to the company some of its most popular original programming will be included such as Dexter , Homeland , Californication , and Showtime Championship Boxing. Among some of the earliest movies name in the meantime include Inglourious Basterds and The King’s Speech.
At the time of launch Showtime is currently offering 400 hours of video through Showtime Anytime however the program is currently limited to AT&T U-verse and Verizon FiOS subscribers.
Showtime also shows Comcast support as coming “soon,” and they promise more TV subscription service providers will jump on board moving forward.
In the meantime Comcast on Tuesday also launched Comcast AnyPlay a service that provides live TV to customers, however the Comcast service is limited to where it can be accessed and who can access the program.
