After releasing the Droid Razr not too long ago, Motorola is back at it again with a new, but pretty similar phone. Dubbed the Droid Razr Maxx, the big feature of this phone will be the increased battery life.
Motorola says that the smartphone will last an impressive 21 hours on a single charge with moderate use, double the life of the Droid Razr. If that’s the case, even with heavy use, it may be possible to last a full 8 hour work day.
Over the years, Android smartphones haven’t necessarily been known for their battery life. As hardware becomes more energy efficient and more beefy, yet not sacrificing thinness batteries are used, we’ve started to see this change.
For example, the Samsung Galaxy S II (over 5 Million units sold) with a dual core processor and large HD display, has received great reviews and high marks for it’s battery life.
When it comes to the specs on the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, don’t get too excited however.

“Despite packing a beefier battery, the phone still keeps its trim 0.35-inch profile. All the other great features of the Droid Razr will be here, too, including an 8-megapixel camera and Webtop functionality.”
Essentially, the biggest difference between this phone and the original is a beefier battery. With that said, this smartphone will cost $100 more at $299 on a 2 year contract than the original.
Is it worth the extra price? It all depends on how much you use your phone and your preference. For peace of mind on those long hauls away from the charger, that extra hundred dollars may more than pay for itself.
