Move Over iPhone 6: Samsung Galaxy S6 To Launch Early, Include Camera Upgrade

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 release date could come sooner than expected. A recent report from South Korean publication ETNews hints that the Galaxy S6 may launch earlier than Samsung had planned. This may make Apple a little more nervous over their popular iPhone 6 phone.

The Galaxy S6 will include a 20-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), according to the report. BGR already leaked the details of the Samsung smartphone a few days ago. Samsung’s Electro-Mechanics division, also known as SEM, will mass-produce this smartphone and the parts for this particular handset.

Samsung is hoping that the Galaxy S6 phone will bring the major growth factors that the company needs. It may even be a growth factor for its SEM division for the first quarter of the year.

“As the Galaxy S6 was released 2~3 weeks earlier than originally planned, not only the OMS Business Division [which makes the 20-megapixel OIS cameras], but also the ACI Business Division is doing very well. The ACI Business Division supplies the IVH (Interstitial Via Hole) HDI (High Density Interconnection) for the Galaxy S6.”

That means the Galaxy S6 could arrive in the month of March rather than the month of April, just like with Samsung’s past two Galaxy S releases. The Galaxy S4 was released in New York during March instead of April, while the Galaxy S5 debuted at the Mobile World Congress in late February instead of its April release date.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 launch date rumors could point to a March 2nd release date at MWC 2015. It will also happen the day after HTC will release its HTC One M9 successor. However, the date hasn’t been confirmed, and won’t be confirmed until Samsung sends out media invites for its event. Samsung typically uses a large event to announce its Galaxy S smartphones, according to Gotta Be Mobile .

There is speculation on whether the Galaxy S6 will bring some major competition for the iPhone 6. Its said to have high-powered specifications such as a Quad HD display and an Exynos 64-bit processor. The Galaxy S6 will also feature a new design that uses materials like aluminum or glass, wireless charging, and a release on the five major carriers in the U.S., which include AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.

Apple recently had the upper hand in the competition, according to BGR . But with the news of the details and specs of the Galaxy S6, it looks like Samsung’s latest phone could top the charts. According to a recent Inquisitr report, the Samsung Galaxy S6 could dominate the mobile market in 2015.
