Former Jersey Shore star Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio was dressed to the nines when he attended his former co-star, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s wedding on Saturday. The pro-DJ looked a bit different in the photographs published by the Daily Mail , but not just because he was wearing a conservative blue tailored suit and polished wingtips — 34-year-old DelVecchio appeared to have put on some weight and his face was noticeably puffy.
Other than his signature blowout, Pauly D looked more like a maturing businessman than a young Vegas DJ as he walked into the St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, New Jersey to watch Snooki marry Jionni LaValle.
Online chatter about Pauly D gaining weight is nothing new. In 2012, Radar Online reported that Paul DelVeccchio had a “bloated face” and pointed to his possible use of steroids to help him “up the ante in the weight room.”
“When a man takes steroids, he becomes bloated, holds a lot of water, and his estrogen rises… which leads to water retention that makes people look bloated.”
DelVecchio is not shy about showing off the results of his workouts with his Twitter followers, so it’s totally possibly that he’s trying to amp things up by adding steroids into his workout plan, something he has denied in the past.
“I’m 100 percent natural. I just have very good genetics. I’ve had a six-pack since I was little, and even if I miss the gym, the six-pack is always there.”

If DelVecchio isn’t using steroids, perhaps he’s just getting older and putting on a few pounds. It’s possible that he recently made a visit to his hometown in Johnston and indulged in some of the calorie-heavy foods that state is known for — including doughboys and New York System hot weiners. Either that or the camera angles were all wrong when Pauly D posed for the paparazzi at Snooki’s wedding.
Rumors that Pauly D’s puffier face is related to steroid use is, for now, unconfirmed gossip. However, what can be confirmed is that he was one of the only Jersey Shore guys to get on Snooki’s wedding guest list. The Daily Mail reports that the bride’s former co-stars, Vinny Guadagnino and Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino (who was recently in court on tax fraud charges) were not invited to to witness the mother of two marry her long-time boyfriend.
