If a politician running for office can raise money via the Internet, then why not for a filmmaker who wants to see his film made. With a dream of making a romantic comedy for the big screen, Canadian television director Casey Walker is raising funds for his movie by selling future frames of the film on the Internet for $10 apiece.
His MyMillionDollarMovie.com website hopes to raise $1 million in order to make his movie “Free For All… But You!” By buying frames, you get a credit in his movie, advertisements rights on the site, and a share of the profits (in case it becomes a hit).
To date, he has sold 18,100 frames or $181,000. There’s still 125,900 frames left in case you’re interested.
