Randy Moss is headed back to the football field, and this time he’ll be teaming up with his son.
The former Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots wide receiver has accepted an associate coaching position at Victory Christian High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where his on is a standout.
Randy’s son, Thaddeus, joined the team this year after his family moved out of the New England area.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Thad Moss is a tight end and defensive end, and also dabbled in quarterback a bit for the Lincoln (Rhode Island) Lions last season. He’s attracted some early attention from recruiters.
The younger Moss is actually a basketball standout as well, and ended up transferring to St. Albans School in Charleston, West Virginia, where he planned to play basketball.

After those basketball goals fell short, Moss moved to the northeast and Lincoln High. For Lincoln, Moss has emerged as an uber-versatile threat, starting the year as a defensive end and tight end and adding part time roles as a quarterback and wide receiver , among others, as the season has advanced.
So far, there are very few things the younger Moss hasn’t done on the football field at Lincoln. He is still growing into his body — Moss currently stands 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds — and has the same strength that his father combined with blazing speed to become one of the NFL’s most feared receivers of all time.
Thad Moss has a reputation for being a versatile star, a trait he gets from his dad. Randy Moss was also a multi-talented athlete in high school, excelling in football, basketball, baseball, and track.
It’s not clear exactly what coaching duties Randy Moss will take with his son’s high school team, but he has experience pretty much anywhere. During his high school playing days, Randy split time between wide receiver, defensive back, kicker, punter, and punt and kick returner.
