In one of the more disturbing videos going viral lately, this heartbreaking clip shows a mother forcing her son to fight another child in the neighborhood while she circles the fight and watches.
Clearly not wanting to be in the situation, the young boy apparently named Donovan, is forced into a fist fight on the front lawn of his home while he gets pummeled by his opponent and subsequently mocked by the other children.
“Come on, hurry up,” the child filming the fight says in the background.
As the two circle each other, Donovan takes a flurry of punches to the face with his mother shouting in the background.
“Square it up equally,” the mother says to her son.
“Get your hands dirty, Donovan! Get it up, Donovan! Get it up!”
The young boy covers his face the best he can, but it doesn’t do any good as he is simply overmatched in the fight.
After he takes a few half-hearted swings at his opponent, he is hit solidly and begins cursing at his mother for what she is making him do.
“Swing them hard, Donovan!” she yells.
With the other children laughing in the background, Donovan continuously backs away, trying anything he can to escape the situation.
Screaming in frustration with his mother hovering over him, Donovan is finally able to get out of the altercation that lasted an excruciating minute and a half.
Some commenters of the video are saying that while the video is hard to watch, they feel it is a necessary lesson to prevent further bullying while others say there is no place for this kind of parenting regardless of the situation.
