Users of Apple’s Final Cut Pro X software have been greeted with an unusual message, they have been told to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.8. While such a request is typical for new Mac Pro Apps the OS version has not yet been made available by the tech company.
The request arrvied in a brief made available on Tuesday by Apple which reads:
“Updating to Mac OS X v10.6.8 or later is strongly recommended when using Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, or Compressor 4.”
While the update is not yet available on Mac systems it does give us hope that Apple will soon release the OS update before releasing Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
The update will be free however many users may choose to pay $30 and upgrade to Mac OS X Lion once it is made available to all Snow Leopard users.
According to AppleInsider users of the new Pro Apps will also want to download:
Apple Intermediate Codec, Apple ProRes, AVC-Intra, DVCPRO HD, HDV, XDCAM HD / EX / HD422, MPEG IMX and Uncompressed 4:2:2.
