Auburn delivered a shocking loss to Alabama, knocking off the No. 1 team in the nation by returning a missed kick 100 yards with no time left on the clock to win the Iron Bowl 34-28.

The matchup of the No. 1 and No. 4 teams in the nation lived up to its billing on Saturday, with the teams going toe to toe in a tightly contested game. After Auburn scored a game-tying touchdown with less than a minute left, Alabama moved the ball down the field.

Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon took a draw and ran 24 yards to the Auburn 38, stepping out of bounds as time expired. But as the teams prepared for what looked to be overtime, Alabama coach Nick Saban argued with referees that the Yeldon had stepped out with one second remaining.

Referees placed one second back on the clock, allowing Alabama to line up for a 57-yard field goal.

The kick drifted to the right and ended up short, where returner Chris Davis was waiting to collect the kick. He ran through the first line of defenders and cut to the sidelines, passing though the unprepared kick team. Davis ran the final 30 yards with a convoy of blockers and no Alabama players in sight.

Auburn had tied the game with 32 seconds left after Nick Marshall ran a fake bootleg and then lofted a pass to Sammie Coates, who ran untouched 39 yards for a touchdown.

With the shocking win over Alabama, Auburn has clinched a place in the SEC Championship game.
