‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Actress Makes A (Very) Quick Cameo In ‘Game Of Thrones’ Trailer [Video]

Here’s hoping she gets to sing “The Rains Of Castamere” in her short Game of Thrones cameo. According to Vanity Fair , Danish actress Birgitte Hjort Sørensen appears for a split-second in the trailer for Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 8, entitled “Hardhome.” Sørensen, who played a German singer in the smash hit Pitch Perfect 2 , is also credited by IMDB with playing the role of “Wilding Chieftainess” in Game Of Thrones Season 5, Ep. 10: “Winter.”

It’s fair to say that the set of Pitch Perfect 2 is quite literally a world away from Game of Thrones. For those who aren’t familiar, the original movie followed Becca, a very shy college girl who becomes more outgoing after joining her (fictional) University’s all-female collegiate a capella team, The Barden University Bellas.

In the first movie, the Bellas take on competitors from around the country — the sequel has them attending an international competition. Though Becca has her struggles throughout the movie (like any well-written character), Pitch Perfect is largely a comedy. Suffice to say Game of Thrones is very much not intended as comedy — in fact, there’s a lot of tragedy in pretty much every episode. Take a look at the video and see what you think (Birgitte appears about 23 seconds in and it’s literally a split-second long cameo).

Hopefully, Birgette will have a bigger role in the show than she had in the trailer. In the meantime, her fans can entertain themselves with rumors that a third movie might be on its way, should Pitch Perfect 2 continue to succeed, according to an article published by Inquisitr . Endless meme possibilities aside, we’ll just have to wait and see if the studio thinks a third movie is a plausible idea.

In addition to Pitch Perfect 2 and Game of Thrones, Sorensen also starred in the Danish drama Borgen and an art biopic by the name of Marie Kroyer, according to Deadline . Being that Game of Thrones films in a handful of exotic locations around the world, perhaps we will see an even wider variety of actors and actresses from different countries appearing on set (hopefully, ones the series won’t kill off before they get a chance to really show off their acting talents).

If you haven’t gotten around to seeing the sequel yet (or liked it so much you want to re-live it), the soundtrack does a pretty nice job of summarizing the movie, and is now streaming on Spotify. Listen for Birgette to be lending her pipes to any song credited to “Das Sound Machine,” the movie’s German a capella team.
