A shooting at Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas in the early hours of Monday morning ended in one fatality and saw four people injured.

The police say that a man with a gun entered the night club, Drai’s After Hours, situated in the basement of the hotel and asked the doorman if he could just look around before paying the cover fee required by the management.

The shooting incident , which occurred at around 5:45 am, took place after the man looked around and duly paid the cover fee charge. A few minutes later he approached staff and demanded his money back.

An altercation ensued between the man and the manager of the club about the money, at which point the man shot the manager in the arm. A security man at the scene who tried to stop the gunman was also shot.

A patron at the club and another security guard then wrestled with the man to try and take the gun from him. This resulted in the security guard being shot and wounded and the patron tragically losing his life .

The injured, all of whom were males, were taken to the local University Medical Center for treatment. Police reported that the gunman himself was also injured in the Bally’s hotel shooting. Police Sgt. John Sheahan stated, “The person is in custody. The weapon is in custody.”

The gunman will allegedly be booked in abstentia for murder and other counts of attempted murder. The police said that the nightclub was evacuated following the Bally’s hotel shooting as it was officially a murder scene. However, Fox News reported that gambling continued in the Bally’s hotel casino after the shooting, but yellow crime scene tape stretched around several banks of slot machines outside the nightclub and debris littered the floor.
