Netflix’s newest series, The Punisher , is set to debut in just 12 days and the streaming platform recently shared two clips from the action-packed show. Frank Castle’s lack of empathy is on full display in the new teasers.
Castle, played by The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal, has had a pretty rough go in life. In the new Daredevil spinoff, fans will get a look on where the madness started, and then be taken through a revengeful journey.
On the official Punisher Twitter account, a nine-second clip was shared showcasing an encounter between Castle and another man. Castle is shown storming a bathroom stall where a man in a suit awaits. The man pleads for mercy saying “I got a family of my own,” which is a bit of a sore subject for the vigilante.
He responds with a quick “I don’t,” before appearing to punch his face in. Castle isn’t one for sympathy, especially when someone uses their own family as a plea of defense. The short clip is the first scene revealed from the new series, outside of the trailers.
Two days ago, Netflix released another clip showing Castle playing the guitar with his daughter. Castle quotes from Avenging and Bright , a poem by Thomas Moore, while serene guitar music plays. The calm scene with his daughter fades to the father hanging an unidentified man as he narrates, “til the vengeance is wreak’d on the murderer’s head.”

Castle’s role as the Punisher really begins after the murder of his wife and daughter who accidentally observed a mob-hit. He becomes an anti-hero who takes vengeance on those who have killed his family and discovers an even larger set-up in the process. The Punisher is one of few Marvel characters in entertainment today who does not possess any actual superpowers. He is along the likes of Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Daredevil.
Bernthal’s Castle first appeared in Daredevil Season 2 and was loved by fans so much that Netflix decided to give the character his own series. It’s uncertain if Daredevil himself (Charlie Cox) will appear in the new Punisher series, which would all depend on the timeline.
Daredevil veteran Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) will be a major player in The Punisher , reprising her role as a journalist. Page was the only person Castle trusted in Season 2 of Daredevil . Screen Rant hints that Page will aid Castle in his takedown of mobsters and criminals in the debut series.
The Punisher debuts on November 17 on Netflix.
