The Orange is the New Black Season 4 trailer was just released by Netflix and is promising to be “next level crazy.” New conflicts emerge, old grudges heat up, and tensions over race and religion are on the rise. A host of new COs, 100 new inmates, issues with overcrowding, and the prison’s new for-profit policy only complicate matters for the female inmates.

Orange is the New Black Season 4 promises new blood, new rules, and new conflicts.

MTV News noted the Orange is the New Black season 4 trailer has just about every inmate at Litchfield Penitentiary on the verge of a breakdown.

Piper (Taylor Schilling), who started a dirty panty enterprise in Season 3, says “I have starting to feel unsafe lately.”

Likely, her success in the panty industry and some of her unsavory tactics to get the other inmates involved has led to her discomfort.

A tense scene on the prison grounds between Piper and Maria Ruiz (Jessica Pimentel) shows the level of animosity that has developed towards Piper by some of the other inmates.

“I am going to bury you,” Maria threatens.

Apparently, Piper’s fellow inmates aren’t the only ones getting fed up with her antics in Season 4.

“I think I’ve pissed off the prison,” Piper says.

Litchfield is now a for-profit prison, leaving the inmates packed in like “sardines.” The 100 new inmates have Joe Caputo (Nick Sandow) frustrated and overwhelmed. He demand’s new COs immediately to handle the surge in inmates.

“Everybody is getting on each other’s nerves. S**t is about to be stirred,” says Poussey (Samira Wiley) summing up the drama in Season 4.

Orange is the New Black Season 4 trailer has Red (Kate Mulgrew) seriously bent on revenge, an angry and almost unrecognizable Sophia (Laverne Cox) is still in SHU, and Tiffany (Taryn Manning) is “really tired of walking around like a dog.” We also catch a glimpse of Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) looking not so well in the bed of a hospital. Things get so chaotic at a certain point that a SWAT team is shown swooping down on Litchfield.

Two major characters seem to be missing from the Orange is the New Black Season 4 trailer. Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) and Alex (Laura Prepon) are nowhere to be seen. Last we saw of Alex, she was in a life-or-death situation, proving her paranoia throughout Season 3 was well warranted.

According to the Romper , we do hear what sounds like Alex’s voice asking Red , “Can you keep a secret?”

Orange is the New Black has never shied away from exploring the harsher side of prison life for women. The Inquisitr reported on the hit Netflix series taking a darker turn for Season 4. The show still does not lose its sense of humor, which is portrayed by a humorous scene of Taystee (Danielle Brooks) adjusting to her new job as prison secretary.
