Marvel will soon be coming off what is potentially their biggest film yet with Avengers: Age Of Ultron . A few months following that film, Marvel will be releasing Ant-Man , which is a film that’s probably been in development longer than any other Marvel film to date, and in fact, was announced alongside Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk back in 2006. In fact, it’s been development for so long that between the time the project started and now, the entire philosophy of comic book movies have changed. No longer is it okay for Marvel to release a completely standalone film with no ties to the main universe. Back in 2006, when the movie was first in development, they could get away with that, but twelve films into the Marvel franchise? No way.
In a 2013 interview with Slash Film , Marvel head Kevin Feige discussed Ant-Man ‘s need for an overhaul.
“Frankly, now we have to rewrite it to put it a little bit more into the [Marvel Cinematic Universe] because it was written before it existed. [Edgar Wright] has done a great job being incredibly true to the comics but is putting his own spin on it, so we’ll be drawing on multiple mythologies for this one.”
Unfortunately, at the end of the day, Edgar Wright and Marvel could not come to terms on the direction Ant-Man should go in, and Wright left the project after eight years on board.
Director Peyton Reed was brought on after Wright left, and over the course of the next few months, writer Adam McKay and actor Paul Rudd went through an extensive re-writing process of Wright’s original Ant-Man script, doing what they could to embed it in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.
A couple months back, we got our first taste of the film with the first Ant-Man trailer, and it left viewers quite underwhelmed, to say the least.
The film seemed to take itself too seriously, and for the first time, it seemed like Marvel was perhaps doomed to fail.
At an Avengers press conference yesterday, however, Marvel screened the next Ant-Man trailer and revealed it will be online on Monday, Screen Rant reports . Will this trailer be enough of an improvement to sway doubters? Below are some impressions on the second trailer.

Mistake with wording. It’s the next ANT-MAN trailer. Has a lot of yellow jacket and action. Ends with a fun bit featuring a train set.
