Just months after a split was announced, it looks as if the Avril Lavigne-Chad Kroeger relationship could be back on again.
The couple, who separated in September but never formally divorced, were seen together at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy party in Beverly Hills. According to reports, Avril and Chad are expected to walk the red carpet together at the Grammy Awards.
Recent rumors indicated that Avril may be dating Ryan Cabrera, but further investigation by Gossip Cop indicated that the rumors were false. Instead, the news outlet asserted that Lavigne had reunited with her husband of two years. The rumors of reconciliation appear to have been confirmed when Avril and Chad stepped out together on Sunday.
In addition to being photographed on the red carpet Sunday, Lavigne posted two photos to Instagram showing herself and Kroeger looking more than a little cozy.

Back in September, Lavigne used the same social media network to announce that she and Kroeger had separated. At the time, she shared a photo from her wedding to the Nickelback frontman and wrote that she and Chad were “still, and would forever be,” the best of friends.

The announcement of the split came shortly after Lavigne revealed that she had spent much of the previous year struggling with Lyme disease. After the news broke, Lavigne acknowledged how supportive Kroeger had been throughout the entire difficult recovery period.
While she struggled with the illness, Lavigne was so weak that she had a difficult time completing basic, day-to-day tasks, such as showering, for example. Lavigne said that Kroeger was with her as much as possible during her recovery despite the fact that he was in the midst of recording an album and performing a world tour.
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger met in the studio, where Kroeger said that “the stars aligned.” Just a month ans six days after they began dating, Kroeger proposed to Lavigne in 2012 with a 14-carat diamond ring, and the couple was married on July 1, 2013, in France.

But things weren’t always rosy between the two rockers. For more than a year before they announced their separation, rumors swirled that Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger were headed for divorce after Lavigne was spotted without her wedding ring on more than one occasion. Eventually, however, Lavigne began deleting photos from her Twitter and Instagram accounts, and many believed that the action confirmed the rumors.
And although the pair were seen together at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party, there has been no confirmation from their reps that the pair has reconciled, and neither singer was wearing a wedding ring on Sunday night.
In fact, the behavior exhibited at the party isn’t totally unprecedented for Avril. Lavigne split from her first husband, Sum 41 frontman Derek Whibley, in 2009. In 2011, Whibley produced much of Lavigne’s Goodbye Lullaby album, proving that it’s not impossible for the “Sk8er Boi” singer to be friendly with her exes.

In fact, it’s not even the first time Kroeger and Lavigne have reunited since their split. In December, the couple was spotted out together, and in October, Lavigne and Kroeger spent time working together in the recording studio.
