Demi Lovato and Fall Out Boy take us back to the dawn of the millennium in the music video for “Irresistible.” Demi and the pop punk band will make late ’90s boy band fans nostalgic for Justin Timberlake’s crunchy Ramen curls, and the era when there were multiple boy bands battling for top spots on Total Request Live .

Carson Daly’s MTV VJ days are over, Justin Timberlake killed his curls over a decade ago, and the One Direction infection is the only boy band craze that girls care about these days. However, NSYNC is still impacting music is a major way, as evidenced by Fall Out Boy’s “Irresistible” music video featuring Demi Lovato.

The clip pays homage to NSYNC’s “It’s Gonna Be Me” music video, which transforms Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and JC Chasez into living dolls. The guys cause chaos in the toy department by fighting with G.I. Joes and partying with Barbies, while trying to attract the attention of an attractive girl (Kim Smith). The video debuted on TRL in the summer of 2000, when Demi Lovato was just 7-years-old.

Demi Lovato Revisits NSYNC’s “It’s Gonna Be Me” in Fall Out Boy Music Video

As Rolling Stone reports, Fall Out Boy’s “Irresistible” video stars Demi Lovato as an assembly line worker who isn’t very enthused about producing NSYNC dolls, similar to those in the “It’s Gonna Be Me” music video. However, Demi brightens up a bit when some Fall Out Boy bobble head dolls come twitching down the conveyor belt.

Later on, Demi Lovato gets all sexed up in an outfit that looks like a cleavage-heavy candy striper uniform. Demi wanders around a toy store, just like Kim Smith does in the “It’s Gonna Be Me” video, and a bunch of Fall Out Boy dolls follow NSYNC’s lead by breaking out of their packages and trying to flirt with Barbie dolls. Pete Wentz gets chased off by Ken.

Joey Fatone makes a cameo as a toy store worker who throws Fall Out Boy dolls in the bargain bin while making sure to keep shelves stocked with NSYNC dolls, and Chris Kirkpatrick appears at the beginning of the “Irresistible” video as one of Demi Lovato’s assembly line coworkers. He tries to spice up his boring job by making out with his NSYNC doll. According to the video’s description, it’s supposed to take place at the same toy store featured in the “It’s Gonna Be Me” video.

Last year, Demi Lovato told MTV News that she grew up listening to NSYNC, and she was thrilled when she got to hang out with Lance Bass at Logo TV’s “Trailblazers” event. Perhaps her former boy band star pal was too busy to appear with her in Fall Out Boy’s new video.

Demi Lovato Loves Carrie Fisher’s Response to Body Shamers

Demi Lovato seems to have a lot of respect for celebrities who have appeared in toy form. According to Just Jared , Demi recently showed her support for Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress Carrie Fisher , whose “Slave Leia” dolls are extremely popular collectibles. In December, Fisher told CNN that she thought Disney’s rumored Slave Leia toy ban was “stupid.” However, she also thinks it’s stupid that some Star Wars fans expect her to have the same body as her plastic doll. Carrie Fisher recently took to Twitter to slam the silly body shamers who complained because she doesn’t look like she did three decades ago.

Please stop debating about whetherOR not????aged well.unfortunately it hurts all3 of my feelings. My BODY hasnt aged as well as I have.Blow us????????

— Carrie Fisher (@carrieffisher) December 29, 2015

My body is my brain bag, it hauls me around to those places & in front of faces where theres something to say or see pic.twitter.com/T2TXiEyl17

Demi Lovato responded to Carrie Fisher’s tweets by praising the way she handles the haters.

Major props to @carrieffisher .. This woman has been through so much and yet she still doesn’t let the haters get to her.. Awesome example

— Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) January 3, 2016

for women of all ages everywhere. Thank you @carrieffisher .. You are #goals ????????????????????????

Just like Carrie Fisher, Demi Lovato is completely comfortable in her own skin . During a recent interview with People , Demi revealed that she loves herself the most when all she’s rocking is what Mother Nature gave her.

“I feel the most beautiful when I’m naked,” Lovato revealed. “Just completely stripped down, completely organic, me. That’s when I feel the most confident, because that’s the most natural state that I could possibly get in.”

Maybe working with dolls in the “Irresistible” video will inspire Demi Lovato to continue her fight to get her own body-confident Barbie doll . According to Gossip Cop , Demi has said that she would love for Mattel to create a “curvy doll” that’s based on her look. And who knows? Maybe the Demi doll would pop up in one of the pop star’s future music videos.
