Donald Trump’s speech is raising health concerns after stumbling over his words while reading from notes. On Tuesday, Trump signed an executive order tightening mail-in voting rules, as reported by The Daily Beast.
After he signed the order, Trump then shifted to discussing the ballroom project.
Trump mentioned the federal judge who halted his construction, stating, “Basically, he’s saying I need congressional approval.”

He added, “I see right here, I just wrote it down, he said we need congressional approval.”
He also said, “…but this is positive for us—I’m allowed that, meaning we are allowed, to continue building as necessary to, let’s see…What is that? To…Cover the safety and security of the White House and its grounds.”
Trump read these from a note where the information was written in black ink, and the letters appeared significantly large.
The president also claimed that he would be allowed to go ahead with the construction as long as the White House and its grounds are not affected, as reported by The Irish Star.
He further said, “Just so you know, I wrote some of the things down,” continuing, “We have a drone-proof roof—and it talks about the president and his staff—well, we’re gonna have a lot of bulletproof glass, the White House was built a long time ago.”
Trump later said, “This has the highest level of, in fact, they call this graph… this, uh, grass, this, uh, the glass, uh. It’s bulletproof, and it’s ballistic proof.”
The outlet noted that Trump fumbled his words multiple times during the speech.
Regarding this, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle even issued a statement to The Daily Beast, stressing, “President Trump is the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history.”
Ingle added, “President Trump is working around the clock to make our country greater than ever before.”
There have been consistent questions about Trump’s health and age. These concerns stem in part from reports of him sleeping in meetings and having a bruise around his hand, as reported by MS Now.
Officials, including Marco Rubio, have defended Trump’s habit of closing his eyes as a “listening mechanism.”

However, in the past, Trump himself told New York Magazine that he does it because, “It’s boring as hell.”
While talking about Cabinet meetings, he said, “I’m going around a room, and I’ve got 28 guys — the last one was three-and-a-half hours. I have to sit back and listen, and I move my hand so that people will know I’m listening. I’m hearing every word, and I can’t wait to get out.”
For the bruise, Trump stated, “This is only from shaking hands.”
Irish Star noted that Trump appeared to hide his hand during the same meeting where he signed the order.
