On March 31, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump visited the Kennedy Center, which has now been renamed to Kennedy-Trump Center, to attend the opening night of the musical Chicago. While the pair was welcomed with both boos and cheers, one detail about Melania stood out that led to fans claiming that it was actually the First Lady’s body double at the event.
Melania wore an all-white dress with fringe detail and as she smiled next to Trump, netizens claimed her smile suggested she was not the real First Lady. One user on X pointed out, “You see the gal that looks like Melania. It is the double. When have we ever seen a smile like that from the real Melania? Never.”
Another one added, “Wow. Is that Trump with a Melania body double. Hasn’t Trump torn down the Kennedy Center yet? Wasn’t he supposed to turn it into a Costco and Casino? Where are the Epstein files and who pushed Trumplef–k into starting a war. Netanyahu or the Arabs?”

It should be noted here that this is not the first time that Melania has faced body double speculations. The same rumors had arisen when she wore sunglasses in the middle of the night and a section of netizens had suggested that she did it to hide her true identity since she was not actually Melania.
Before that, in February, Melania was again seen wearing sunglasses at night, which led to the same body double speculations. The root of this accusation goes back to the year 2017 and Guardian columnist Marina Hyde is often credited with starting the rumor. According to her, “Absolutely convinced Melania is being played by a Melania impersonator these days. Theory: she left him weeks ago.”
The speculation persisted and gained momentum on multiple occasions whenever netizens spotted some perceived inconsistencies in Melania’s appearance. While whether it was indeed a body double for the First Lady with Trump on Tuesday night is up for debate, what is certain is that they were booed by some in the crowd.

However, there were also cheers that drowned out some of the boos. Interestingly enough, when Melania and Trump had previously visited the performance center for the premiere of Les Misérables last summer, they were greeted with huge boos from the crowd, which seemed to remain consistent this time as well.
As Trump is expected to close the center for a two-year renovation in July, this one might have been the couple’s last visit to the center before it closes down. Besides the Melania body double theories, some critics online questioned Trump attending musicals as the US continues its war with Iran, which has affected fuel prices.
Moreover, some comments also referred to the Epstein files and pointed out Trump’s connection to the late s-x offender, which highlighted the fact that despite so much going on, many people have not forgotten about those files and some continue to hold Trump accountable.
