Ex-Fox News host Gretchen Carlson shared a conspiracy theory surrounding President Donald Trump. During an interaction with CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront, the host claimed that “Somebody got to him” (as in Trump).
Shedding light on her theory, Carlson continued, “Presumably, the polls are the first thing that got to him because he’s absolutely cratering in the polls on this.”
WOW! NBC was just forced to say something TRUE about President Trump for once: “You’ve had success on immigration! Illegal crossings at historic lows!”

The former Fox News host also brought up Alex Pretti and Renee Good during the podcast, who were brutally killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this year.
“But the thing that I worry about is, after he seemed to have a little empathy for the situation in Minnesota and two U.S. citizens were murdered, then, last Friday night, he was asked about it on the red carpet, and he completely flipped again,” Carlson said. She continued, “So I’m worried now that these comments were from the last person who spoke to him before he went out to do this interview.”
Post the shooting incident, Donald Trump told NBC News, “He was not an angel and she was not an angel. You know, you look at some tapes from back, but still, I’m not happy with what happened there. Nobody could be happy and ICE wasn’t happy either.”
Later, addressing the incident, Trump said, “We keep our country safe. We’ll do whatever we can to keep our country safe.” When the reporter again asked if he had decided to pull the officers back, the President reiterated, “No, no. Not at all.”

There is a long-standing theory in Washington that Donald Trump’s position at any given moment depends entirely on who had the last word in his ear. Carlson alluded to this mercurial nature, expressing deep reservations about whether this regret has any shelf life.
Watch closely: Donald Trump is plotting to rig the midterms.
In just the past 2 weeks, his AG demanded that Minnesota turn over voter rolls, his DNI raided 2020 election ballots in Georgia, & he called to ‘nationalize’ our elections.

It suggests a presidency that doesn’t really steer so much as it drifts, pushed along by whichever advisor—or terrifying polling spreadsheet—happens to be in the room last. If Carlson is right, this isn’t a pivot. It is likely just a brief intermission before the usual programming resumes.
