President Donald Trump’s health has been in the spotlight for almost his entire second presidency. Ever since details about his chronic venous insufficiency were revealed in 2025, supporters and critics have been closely monitoring news about his well-being.
Conspiracy theories about dementia or more serious conditions spread like wildfire online. Many fans zeroed in on the makeup-covered bruises on both his hands. However, Trump continues to assert that he is in good health. It looks like the rumor mill is firing up once more about the POTUS’s bruises because he was recently spotted with them again.
The president appeared at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa. Trump was greeted by a sea of supporters who cheered for him throughout the rally. The POTUS discussed the many wins of the Trump administration.

He highlighted the victories with taxes, immigration, jobs, tariffs, and many more. Additionally, he also encouraged supporters to vote for him in the midterms and suggested running for President a fourth time, which the crowd didn’t seem to have a problem with.
While he highlighted what the Trump administration had reportedly succeeded in, eagle-eyed netizens spotted the makeup-covered bruise on his hand during his speech in Iowa. There appeared to be the same blotch of makeup covering a large bruise on his hand.

According to the Irish Star, the bruise was previously spotted at the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland. Back then, Trump directly addressed the makeup-covered bruise on his hands at the event. He revealed that it was the result of “clipping it” on a table. He explained, “I put a little cream on it, but I clipped it.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also commented on the injury observed at Davos. In an official statement, she said, “President Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table, causing it to bruise.”
In early January 2026, Trump admitted to wearing makeup to cover his bruises. This was to hide the bruise, which he said was the result of his aspirin intake for his diagnosis. Moreover, aspirin helps thin the blood.

Since the reappearance of the makeup-covered bruise, social media has erupted with memes, ridicule, and questions. Many have re-shared an altered image of the bruise with late s– offender Jeffrey Epstein’s face as a reference to calls for the release of the Epstein files.
One user didn’t buy the statements made by both Trump and Leavitt. The user said, “No one bruises that quickly. More likely, the makeup came off.” A second one asked, “What happened to the ‘he shakes a lot of hands’ line?”
A third user shared a graphic of what appears to be Trump discarding vital organs. This was a major dig at his health concerns. A fourth one claimed, “A worse indication of his health, if true.” Likewise, many commented on the credibility of the statements made by the POTUS and his Press Secretary.
About this newly spotted bruise, neither Trump nor White House representatives have released an explanation. Whether or not the Iowa makeup-covered bruise was a result of another signing or something more has yet to be revealed.
