Karoline Leavitt is once again at the center of discussion, but this time because of her husband, Nicholas Riccio‘s surprising glow-up. Niko, who is 33 years older than the White House Press Secretary, met her in 2022 and got engaged in the next December.
The couple tied the knot back in January of this year, mere days before Donald Trump’s inauguration for his second term as the U.S. President. On July 7, Leavitt took to Instagram and shared a carousel of photos from her family’s Fourth of July weekend. Niko also made significant appearances in the post, confirming that Karoline had a great time with him and their 11-month-old son.

Since then, Riccio has found himself at the center of discussion on social media, as many pointed out how different he looked in the photos. One Instagram user commented under Leavitt’s post, “He looks black from behind. Then I thought wait a minute, she’s not faithful after all. Then I saw other pictures. I bet she loves black men though.”
While this seems to be a total misunderstanding, this is not the first time the couple has been subjected to brutal online trolling, mostly because of their huge age gap. Karoline is 27, while her husband, Nicholas is nearing 60, something that people can’t talk enough about on daily basis.

“You dad is so handsome,” one person joked after Leavitt shared the photos from her Fourth of July weekend. Another wrote, “Barbie at the White House with sugar daddy. So 2025.”
“You spend a lot of time with your grandad,” a third chimed in, while another comment echoed, “Nice pic of you and your Dad.”
The first photos in the carousel shows the youngest-ever White House Press Secretary holding her son, while walking hand-in-hand with her husband. It was shot from behind, giving rise to the racial confusion.

In the next photos, Karoline Leavitt was seen attending a baseball game along with her toddler, while Donald Trump’s Special Assistant and Communications Advisor, Margo Martin, accompanied her. Surprisingly, Niko was nowhere to be seen in these images.
He appeared again in the fourth and sixth pictures, spending some daddy-son time. Leavitt also shared a separate picture of her and Riccio in another image, while the last snapshot unveiled a solo shot of real estate developer sitting on beach sand.
“Best weekend of the year celebrating the best country in the world,” the White House Press Secretary wrote in caption. While her recent post only added fuel to the speculations about her marriage, people have been gossiping about the same for a while now.
During a February appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Leavitt even felt the need to address the elephant in the room. “It’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible. He is my greatest supporter. He’s my best friend. He’s my rock,” Leavitt said at that time.
