Elon Musk’s Mixed Signals About Trump after Deportation Threat Leave Netizens Scratching Their Heads

After Donald Trump threatened to deport Elon Musk on social media, his response left users confused and speechless amidst an alleged feud once again. Is this their toxic era?

We are back to talking about Elon Musk and Donald Trump! But, this time they are giving us mixed signals like that one toxic ex in our life who would always text us random “miss you texts” at night!  No really! While the two leaders were happily navigating their newfound friendship at the beginning of Trump’s return to the White House, which began after the 79-year-old appointed the Tesla CEO as an advisor, their bond in recent times seems to be in jeopardy. ( or maybe not?)

Elon Musk has slammed Donald Trump’s most cherished “Big Beautiful Bill” on X(formerly Twitter), which cleared the first round of Senate voting this week. Musk condemned the bill’s projected $3.3 trillion increase in national debt and pledged to back political challengers to anyone supporting the bill.

Meanwhile, the drama kicked off again as Donald Trump fired back on his platform, Truth Social, as he accused Elon Musk of reaping the “most subsidy any human being in history”, suggesting without that support, Musk’s companies would probably have to “close up shop and head back home to South Africa.”

As per USA Weekly, President Donald Trump, while speaking to reporters, said he might “have to take a look” at deporting Musk. He added cryptically, “We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.” These proactive comments by both leaders come from a clash in political views and policies.

As we know, Elon was the head of the White House agency called DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), which was tasked with cutting government funding (which resulted in massive layoffs). He left the role in May to focus on his businesses as Tesla suffered losses and was struggling in the market.

Despite Donald Trump’s rude comments and classic jabs, people were surprised when Elon Musk appeared to have made a surprising shift in tone toward Trump in a post,  just a day after Donald Trump said that he would be deporting the billionaire business magnate.

Musk praised Trump on X (formerly Twitter) for securing a 60-day ceasefire deal related to the Israel-Hamas conflict, writing, “Credit where credit is due.” Musk had earlier responded to Trump’s deportation comments with a restrained threat: “So tempting to escalate this. So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now.”

Consequently, when asked by a reporter about Musk’s recent public criticism of his team, particularly in relation to the proposed rollback of the electric vehicle (EV) mandate, Trump brushed off concerns, saying, “He’s upset that the EV mandate is being terminated, very upset about that. But he could lose a lot more, I can tell you that.”

ELON NEVER WANTED AN EV MANDATE OR SUBSIDIES

Elon’s opposition to the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ has never been about its removal of EV tax credits or the EV mandate, it’s simply about his passionate opposition to rising government debt.

Social media users were not convinced by Elon Musk’s abrupt shift in his tone while applauding Donald Trump’s mediation in the Iran-Israel conflict after the chaos and the 12-day war. Instead, they mocked him for backtracking, calling him a “kiss-a-s,” alongside scrutinizing his past political blunders.

While the current situation between the popular leaders remains uncertain, people are wondering if this online war is just another ordinary PR tactic or an actual full-fledged rivalry! The answer can only be found when the two sit face to face in another interview, like the one with Sean Hannity on Fox News.
