This “50 Shades of Buscemi” trailer could make you rethink the upcoming movie. It takes out Jamie Dornan and replaces him with someone you completely don’t expect.
The re-cut trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey stars Dakota Johnson and Steve Buscemi in a clever twist which might actually be closer to who E.L. James was actually writing the book about. Her husband wasn’t that universally attractive, but he was allegedly who she was thinking about when she wrote the novel.
In that way, Steve Buscemi might actually fit the role better than the man cast in the title role of Christian Grey.
Steve Buscemi has rarely been cast in serious roles, and as this “50 Shades of Buscemi” re-cut trailer shows, he hasn’t had a problem with it. He is mostly known for goofy and off-beat characters, and occasionally psychotic maniacs, such as those in Fargo , Con-Air , and several Adam Sandler films.

The trailer begins as it usually does, with Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) showing up for a newspaper interview with Christian Grey. At first we don’t see Grey’s face, but we hear Buscemi’s voice.
The first indication that it will be hilarious is when we hear him say, “I want a coffee, I want it filled six times. And you?”
Buscemi’s next line is a bit more direct.
“How about your keister? I wanna get me a piece of that pie.”
A scene from an Adam Sandler movie where he plays a cross-eyed weirdo crops up, and you’ll probably be too busy laughing at the absurdity to care that the re-cut trailer is going further into insanity. Another scene from yet another Adam Sandler movie has him putting on lipstick.
Even though Steve Buscemi has a collection of weird scenes, they all actually seem to fit the trailer hilariously well.
