Donald Trump is a busy man, and he has no time even to spell his name correctly! Trump sparked widespread mockery on June 22 after he misspelled his name in a Truth Social post praising B-2 bomber pilots involved in a recent strike on Iran. In the original message, the 79-year-old wrote, “The GREAT B-2 pilots have landed safely in Missouri. Thank you for a job well done!!!”

He signed off in all caps and said, “DONAKD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!” The post was soon deleted and replaced with a corrected version. However, websites that archive Trump’s posts captured the original typo.

While thanking the B-2 pilots for their service, Trump misspelled his own name while signing off in a new statement “DONAKD J. TRUMP.”

As per HuffPost, this isn’t the first time Donald Trump has made attention-grabbing typos on social media. From the infamous “covfefe” tweet in 2017 to errors like “stollen” election, “Wirch Hunt,” and “hamberders,” his posts have long been the subject of public scrutiny. He’s even misspelled his name before, once writing “Donald Ttump” in 2019, and famously referred to his wife as “Melanie” instead of Melania in 2018.

Donald Trump is often outspoken and ruthless in his social media posts. Hence, X (formerly Twitter) banned him from the popular platform on January 8, 2021, after a violent mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, attempting to disrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election results. The attack resulted in deaths, injuries, and overall chaos.

Even after the brutal protest, Donald Trump was posting updates and praising his supporters, calling them “patriots” and saying they would have a “GIANT VOICE long into the future.”

Later, he also openly said that he would not be attending former President Joe Biden’s inauguration, which Twitter said could be interpreted by some as a signal that further violence might be acceptable or arranged. Social media users immediately reacted to Trump’s blunder and wrote, If Joe Biden had misspelled his own name in a tweet, Fox News would be calling for his resignation.”

In an official statement, Twitter said, “For government accounts, such as @POTUS and @WhiteHouse, we will not suspend those accounts but will take action to limit their use. However, these accounts will be transitioned over to the new administration in due course and will not be suspended by Twitter unless absolutely necessary to alleviate real-world harm.” (via CNN).

Then, in October 2021, Donald Trump announced the launch of his social media platform, Truth Social, owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG). Beginning around 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 21, the platform reportedly was shut down after Donald Trump announced that the United States had bombed nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan in Iran. This further escalates the long-standing feud between America and Iran.

“All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow,” Trump wrote. “All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Reportedly, people trying to access Truth Social after the announcement were shown updates like “Network failed” and “Please try again.” Perhaps this error was caused by API congestion, potentially triggered by an overwhelming spike in traffic following Trump’s announcement.

While the platform resumed its services soon after, the tensions between America, Iran, and Israel remain fragile and volatile. This upcoming week will paint a clearer picture of what happens with the situation. With several media reports alleging a World War III, stay tuned for further updates on this with us!
