Who is right, then? Baba Vanga (real name Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova) or your next-door tarot card readers? Let’s find out. Astrologers around the globe say 2025 is the year of Mars, since the sum of its digits happens to be five. It is ruled by the fiery red planet Mars, which signifies adaptability through challenges and transforming changes.

As 2025 progresses, a surge in interest in prophetic predictions is sweeping the globe, sparking widespread unease. Owing to being the year of Mars, this year has seen global chaos, back-to-back wars, a tragic plane crash in India, several accidents, and so on.

While astrologers could only predict the distress 2025 was set to bring, the spotlight has once again turned to the late Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga—whose legacy of eerily accurate predictions continues to resonate—and Ryo Tatsuki, a Japanese manga artist hailed by some as the “New Baba Vanga.”

As per a report, although Baba Vanga died in 1996, many of her followers believe she accurately predicted a series of unsettling global events for 2025. Shockingly, some included a major European war, which would differ from the Russia-Ukraine war. (Could it be World War 3?) Her predictions warn of a tough worldwide financial crisis triggered by increasing geopolitical tensions and economic nationalism. (The USA, India, and many countries have already faced issues due to high inflation rates.)

Furthermore, Baba Vanga predicted a massive earthquake, and a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar caused immense destruction and killed about 5,252 people on March 28, 2025, which is being linked by believers to her visions of increased seismic activity. In addition, on a more hopeful note, Vanga predicted the development of lab-grown organs and cures for deadly diseases like cancer, a disease that is fatal and painful.

Another bold claim involves humanity potentially encountering extraterrestrial life or phenomena. Lastly, she predicted that humans might begin to unlock the ability to communicate telepathically by 2025. Since most of Baba Vanga’s predictions came true, people are panicking now.

Why? In her 2021 manga ‘The Future I Saw,’ Tatsuki predicted another unspecified major disaster on July 5, 2025. Social media has exploded with speculation, with hashtags like #July5Disaster trending globally. She also predicted a second COVID-19 outbreak after the first one in 2020.

Owing to the increased fear among laypeople, organisations like the Japan Meteorological Agency and the Japan National Tourism Organisation have dismissed the claims as unscientific and encouraged the public to remain calm and rational. Moreover, not everyone seems to be a fan of Baba Vanga.

Even though these forecasts have no scientific backing, their emotional impact is undeniable. As July 5 draws closer, people seem worried. However, a lack of written records also makes confirming these statements difficult. It is good to remember that not all predictions may come true. Most of them seem like nothing but coincidences based on choices.

While taking precautions and believing in the divine almighty power is common, it’s good to accept that whatever is destined to happen will happen anyway. However, Baba Vanga will invariably remain a cultural icon whose predictions seem to have intrigued people. The original Bulgarian native rose to fame as a mystic healer and claimed to have foreseen the future at the end of World War II.

She faced a series of hardships that marked her life, and she lost her sight at the age of 12. In the end, perhaps her greatest legacy is not the accuracy of her predictions but the questions they continue to inspire about fate, belief, and the future of humanity.
