28-year-old Beth Martin had no idea that her family trip to Turkey would prove to be her last and would end up in a nightmare. The mother of two children, Beth, died suddenly in Turkey, and what is even more shocking is that when her body was repatriated, her family found that her heart was missing.

Beth landed in Istanbul on April 27. However, she was already feeling unwell during her flight from the UK but did not care much about it as she thought she was having some food poisoning. Unfortunately, within hours after she reached her destination, she felt extremely sick and had to be rushed to Marmara University Pendik Education and Research Hospital where he passed away on April 28.

Turkish authorities have mentioned “cardiac arrest due to multiple organ failure” as the reason behind Beth’s death. However, no more information has been provided by them and thus an air of mystery has been created regarding the details of this unfortunate incident.

What is even more shocking is the fact that British coroners informed Luke Martin, Beth’s husband, that her heart was missing from her body. Talking about the same, Luke told Daily Mail, “It was the most unimaginable news. How does a hospital not know what happened to a patient’s heart?” His frustration and agony are clear from his words and he also accused the Turkish authorities of being evasive and further mentioned that they had initially treated him like a suspect.

As media scrutiny started, the Turkish Health Ministry issued a statement that highlighted the fact that they have not done anything wrong regarding Beth’s health and no surgery had been done on her. However, they did not address the possible reason behind her heart that has gone missing or how something like that could even happen.

While the Turkish authorities have denied any wrongdoing, Beth’s family does not feel the same. They mentioned that Beth might have been given penicillin by the doctors over there and since she was allergic to it, that might have led to the organ failure, which ultimately killed her. If this is true, it would mark a major negligence on the part of the doctors and nothing of this sort has been mentioned by the Turkish authorities.

Turkish officials admit they’ve NO IDEA how British mother’s heart went missing in hospital after she died on holiday fuelling growing suspicions https://t.co/HnCPGOXA7z

As both Britain and Turkey are now involved in this case and the lack of proper information from the Turkish government is making things even more difficult for Beth’s family, one of the family members said that they only want to know what happened to Beth as she was a healthy young woman who went for a trip and never came back. With British coroners expected to take six months to determine the official cause of death, there is nothing apart from waiting that Beth’s family can do now.
