During Thursday’s testimony, George Kaplan, who previously worked for Sean Diddy Combs, revealed that he has a bit of an obsession with applesauce. In particular, it has been revealed that the rapper even put applesauce on his cheeseburgers. This bizarre detail about him has now been highlighted twice this week during the high-profile Manhattan trial.
It unraveled with Kaplan describing how Diddy and his team used the ultra-exclusive American Express Centurion Card, nicknamed the “Black AMEX Card,” to cover his specific expenses such as baby oil, luxury villas, and yacht rentals.
Then, the defense lawyer asked Kaplan about the applesauce. Diddy’s ex-employee explained, “Mr. Combs loves applesauce and eats it on the side or top of a lot of things.”
“Cheeseburgers?” asked lawyer Marc Agnifilo. As reported by the New York Post, Kaplan confirmed, “Cheeseburgers being one of them.”
Not only Kaplan, but David James, another former assistant to Diddy, also talked about the rapper’s obsession with the weird combination of applesauce and cheeseburgers. During Tuesday’s testimony, James, who handled the rapper’s riders, explained that when P Diddy traveled to the UK, he always requested for American ketchup, as he didn’t like the taste of the local tomato sauce.
The ex-employee added that the Bad Boy Records founder also asked his team to carry applesauce. “Were you aware he put applesauce on his cheeseburgers?” asked Agnifilo. To this, James replied, “I was not aware, but I knew he liked applesauce.”

As reported by the media, when the jurors in the courtroom heard about this, they were visibly uncomfortable with the idea of the rapper putting applesauce on his cheeseburgers. One juror ever reportedly made a gagging motion upon hearing about this unusual food combo.
It seems that the rapper has an obsession with fruit, not just applesauce. Kaplan noted that during a heated argument with his ex-girlfriend Gina in 2015, Diddy hurled apples at her.

The defense lawyer also asked Kaplan about Diddy’s expenses and how he had kept track of them all. “His world was the size of the Earth. He was doing business all over the world … Frankly, to think that he knew where some of these things were coming from is unrealistic,” the former Diddy employee replied.
Diddy was arrested on September 16, 2024 from New York.
