A new job is a very stressful situation and no one wants to be fired on their first day. Getting along with co-workers, understanding the work properly, and liking the coffee at the break room are major components of stress. However, for some unlucky (or just unqualified) workers, the first day also becomes their last. These 14 individuals were given the pink slip before they had an opportunity to settle in. It is both due to poor decisions and absolute incompetence. Get ready to laugh and cringe.

1. The Phantom Forklift
Just saying yes now and learning the skill later can work for actors, but not for everyone. A warehouse worker claimed to have years of experience with forklifts but couldn’t solidify the claim when it came to reversing the machines.

He crashed the machine into an inventory rack in a matter of minutes. It resulted in a series of tumbling boxes and damage of almost $3,000. He was fired before he could say Oops.

2. Surprise Sundae
How hot is your hot fudge sundae? A teenage worker at a fast-food restaurant attempted to make their sundae “hotter” by putting it in the microwave. Before Sunday, ice cream could start identifying as a volcano, her plastic cup melted all over the microwave. As a result, the dessert station was shut down, and she lost her job within hours of joining.

3. Construction Without Air
Don’t get into a crawlspace if you have a severe case of claustrophobia. However, the individual who was hired to assist with crawlspace improvements forgot the warning. He neglected to disclose his condition to the contractor. Well, when panic set in, he crawled in more rather than pulling himself out. The poor man had to be dragged out of the confined space. It was his first and only building job before he was fired.

4. The Cashier Who Vanished
He was like a father who stepped out to get the milk and never came back. This new cashier was just stepping out for a quick call. Guess what else stepped out with him? All the money is in the register. After some investigation, it was found that ‘Houdini” didn’t even write his real name on the application. Couldn’t even be fired.

5. The Yoga Trouser Scandal
A play center employee wore skin-tight yoga pants despite the clear dress code. She was then asked to change. Being young and angry, she came back wearing even tighter trousers. She was fired by the manager when the parents started complaining.

6. Taking Meth on the Way to Work
Who doesn’t like getting a ride to their work? But getting a ride from your boss, especially when you are high, is not on everyone’s list. This new warehouse temp was offered a ride by their supervisor. The temp decided to share his “pot” with the boss, “to start the day strong” They failed to reach the parking lot at all. And that temp, well, was gone permanently.

7. Too Thick to Serve Soup
Not everyone is meant to cook. A novice cook in a restaurant kitchen was asked to thicken the soup slightly. The lie on his resume was caught when he added a whole box of cornstarch to the soup, making it concrete. Sadly, no severance soup was offered, and he was asked to leave.

8. Salutations from the Incorrect Galaxy
Instead of giving customers a traditional welcome on Black Friday, a retail assistant wanted to spice things up. He felt it would be amusing to ask, “What the f*** is uuuuup?” No one found it hilarious. He fired within half an hour.

9. The Sleeping Security Guard
Life can be tough, and not everyone gets a good night’s sleep. A mall security guard carried a pillow and blanket. All he wanted was to rest a bit. He was discovered dozing off in the control room. Ironically, he was next to the monitor that showed retail robberies. Needless to say he was fired.

10. Inexperienced Electrician
Never lie on your resume. It is a hard lesson. One individual was hired to assist with wiring a business property. Of course, he claimed years of knowledge. He blew a fuse and cut out power for three establishments on the first day. This happened because he mistook ground wires for live ones.

11. The Impatient Intern
Taking initiatives is good, but only when you are not deleting anything. Do Not Delete. However, this intern did not get this message. He wanted to organise the system and decided to delete “spam” from the system. Turned out he deleted 3 years’ worth of project files. At this point, all he could do was apologise and run before he was fired.

12. The Loud Typist
She was hired as a receptionist. She was expected to be quiet. But she didn’t get the memo. Her aggressive typing style caused noise pollution complaints from adjacent coworkers. HR fired her for refusing to alter her style.

13. The Bartender Who “Influences”
A bartender live-streamed himself mixing drinks on his first shift, all the while, customers waited. Managed wasn’t influenced by his skills, and he was fired.

14. The Thief of Free Samples
A new worker at a grocery store was hired and was put in charge of the free sample station. However, he was seen putting samples in his backpack “for later.” He didn’t survive lunch.
