Dexter star Michael C. Hall is splitting from his wife of just under two years, Jennifer Carpenter, reps for the couple have confirmed.
Reps for Carpenter, 31, and Hall, 39, gave a brief, joint statement to Entertainment Weekly about the couple’s split:
“Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.”
Flak for the couple, who married on New Years’ Eve in 2008, told EW that the split was amicable. Carpenter and Hall met on the set of Dexter , dating for a year and a half before tying the knot. Carpenter plays the foster sister of titular character Dexter Morgan.
Earlier this year, Hall became the subject of media scrutiny when he appeared frail and sickly at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Reps for the actor confirmed then that he was diagnosed with a treatable form of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Carpenter told press in April that Hall was “cured” of the disease.
