There are disturbing videos emerging from a potential terrorist attack that occurred in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday, October 31. A truck drove the wrong way on a bike path for approximately 20 city blocks before the driver of the truck was stopped. According to CNN , the driver of the Home Depot rental truck was shot by police but survived the shooting and is currently in the hospital. There have been fatalities in the attack, but it is not clear at this time how many people have been killed or injured. Photos of smashed bikes have emerged in the wake of the attack, which is described as heinous.
The streets in the area of West Street and Chambers are a common bike path area, where folks often head out onto the West Side Highway. Due to Tuesday being Halloween, the area was crowded with travelers when what was believed to be one suspect performed the devastating act. The bike paths in New York have been expanded recently, so it is also unclear how many cyclists were on the bike path when what appears to be a terrorist attack on a “soft target” happened.
As seen in the above photo, officers with the New York City Police Department directed people away from the Home Depot truck, which can be seen with a smashed front end. The rental truck displayed the prices charged by Home Depot for the truck in the above photo. Police also noted reports of gunfire near West Street, close to the pedestrian bridge at Stuyvesant High School in lower Manhattan in New York.

Up to six people are reported dead. The Home Depot truck drove up to 20 blocks along the bike path, and it was believed to have entered the path at Houston Street. The preliminary information on the attack could change as the story develops, but Buzz Feed News posted the above video, which geo-targeted the area near the attack, showing the footage captured by Snapchat users in the wake of the attack.
