The partnership between location aware social networking game Foursquare and ubiquitous coffee purveyor Starbucks has finally yielded a benefit for frequent customers.
If you’re the mayor of any Starbucks on Foursquare, you can unlock a coupon to get a buck off a Frappucino. You should be able to unlock a special mayor offer which reads:
As mayor of this store, enjoy $1 off a NEW however-you-want-it Frappuccino blended beverage. Any size, any flavor. Offer valid until 6/28.
Mashable spoke to Tristan Walker , head of business development at Starbucks, who says that while the deal officially goes until June 28th, Foursquare players could see some more hot discount action at the coffee retailer down the road as well:
“Starbucks is particularly innovative as it relates loyalty and social media,” Walker noted, “so we continue to be super excited to explore this intersection with them.”
Starbucks isn’t the only retailer to reward mayors on Foursquare- Italian chain Carrabba’s offers a free dessert for those who unlock the title.
