Google and Facebook are facing off in the social networking space, however, that hasn’t stopped Google from selling Facebook FBX ad inventory.

The new partnership will be run by Google’s DoubleClick platform and will allow customers to buy FBX ad inventory through its Bid Manager product.

On the DoubleClick Advertiser Blog, the company writes:

“Partnership has been key to Google’s success as a rising tide lifts all boats. So we’re excited to announce a new way to help our clients succeed by working with Facebook to participate in FBX, their real-time bidding exchange.”

“DoubleClick Bid Manager has been helping agencies and advertisers buy ad space on sites across the web for years. We help clients access dozens of private and public exchanges in more than 75 countries, and continue to see double-digit quarter-over-quarter growth in spend – last quarter was our biggest ever.”

Senior Product Manager Payam Shodjai says the new Google partnership for FBX ads will go live in the next few months.

According to Social News Daily, the Facebook ads on FBX are delivering a 3.04x higher ROI compared to Q3 2012.

Google teaming up with Facebook during its big push for Google+ may seem like an odd decision on the surface. However, the move will allow the world’s largest search platform to extend its advertising reach, while further hyper-targeting its users.

Terms of the deal have not been revealed by Google or Facebook at this time.

Do you think Google will help Facebook FBX ads find a new audience?
