Papua New Guinea is home to vampire cannibals, among many other strange things.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , a walking shark is cousin to a species from Papua New Guinea . Testicle eating fish even inhabit their waters .
Unfortunately, the vampire cannibal of Papua New Guinea is quite human. The mother and father were said to have been separated before this visit. One witness claims a “Vampire Father” dragged his daughter into the woods and began eating her:
“He grabbed the baby girl from [his wife], jumped over a fence and ran into bushes where he carried out this terrible thing. He held the baby close to him, bit deep into her neck, ate the flesh, sucked the blood.”
Two boys climbing coconut trees nearby saw what was happening and tried to stop him, but he just laughed and continuing his gruesome meal. The boys ran into the village to alert everyone and the villagers apprehended the vampire cannibal while running to a church for sanctuary. Police say this man was possessed by demons.
Such a claim is not unusual in Papua New Guinea . Police once arrested 29 people accused of being part of a cannibal cult that ate seven other people. The suspects allegedly ate the brains and “made soup with their penises.”
Stories of witchcraft and demonic possession are prevalent throughout Papua New Guinea. Just this February, a woman was accused of witchcraft and according to reports she was tortured to death. Such actions carry a death penalty for anyone found guilty of murdering a suspected witch :
“These are very tough penalties, but they reflect the seriousness of the nature of the crimes and the demand by the community for Parliament to act.”
