The new 2015 Cadillac Escalade has arrived.
General Motors hasn’t provided too much information about the newly designed Escalade yet but the company did say that the vehicle should be on showroom floors in the first half of next year.
Bob Ferguson, Cadillac’s senior vice president, in a news release:
“Cadillac’s growth provides the ideal stage for the all-new Escalade to take a major leap forward… The 2015 Escalade is completely new and elevated in design and technology, inside and out. The clear objective is to once again assume the leadership position among luxury SUVs.”
Motor Trend Magazine notes that the new 2015 Cadillac Escalade features several improvements over the last generation. The new vehicle is quieter, slightly wider, and gets better fuel economy. GM hasn’t given exact MPG numbers but the company did say that the electric power steering was adjusted to increase fuel economy.
Fuel economy will also be improved thanks to the new 6.2-liter V-8 engine. USA Today reports that the direct injection engine, which is rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pounds-feet of torque, will use GM’s active fuel management system to switch cylinders on and off depending on need.
The interior has also been redesigned with new seats that provide more head and legroom.
Eric Clough, director of interior design, said:
“An exceptional level of craftsmanship has gone into the redesign of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, and it all centers on the premium materials and extensive use of cut-and-sew live stitching – the way fine furniture is produced.”

GM hasn’t put a price tag on the new vehicle. The 2014 Cadillack Escalade currently costs $68,000.
