Apple on Monday released their Find My iPhone / iPad App for free. The one-time paid service is now available without the need for a MobileMe account for users of the iPad, iPHone 4 and fourth-generation iPod touch units running iOS 4.2.1.
Just like the paid option users can find their devices on a map, lock the device remotely, display a message on the phone so it can be returned to the original owner, play a sound on the device and remotely wipe data from any browser and through another iOS app for the program.
Now if Apple would just make MobileMe completely free we would be jumping up and down with joy.
