CBS CEO: The Status Of Angus T. Jones Is Uncertain [Video]

CBS CEO Les Moonves isn’t sure where the network stands with Angus T. Jones, the Two and a Half Men star who called the show “filth” and asked people to stop watching it, but said that, compared to dealing with Charlie Sheen, it’s “a piece of cake.”

Moonves gave an interview to The Wall Street Journal (see video below) in which he admitted that “I don’t know what our status is with him,” referring to the actor who plays Jake Harper on the hit CBS sitcom. Moonves added the following:

“We took this boy who started with us when he was eight years old, and it seemed to be what happens with child stars over the course of time.

‘”He’s now making $300,000 per week, which is not a bad salary for a 19-year-old kid, and he went on a religious channel and urged people not to watch the show because it was filth. By the way, he’s still collecting his $300,000 a week.”

Asked if the producers would replace Jones with another actor in the same way Ashton Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen, Moonves admitted that “we have other plans. I don’t think it’s quite been resolved, but after going through what we went through with Charlie Sheen, this is a piece of cake.”

Jones plans to finish out his contract for the remainder of the season 10 episodes, but his character in the show has joined the army , so it will be relatively easy for the producers to phase him out. There is even a rumor that Miley Cyrus would replace him, presumably prompting the sitcom’s name change.
