Ready for some crazy sales figures? According to number crunchers Trefis if Apple decided the iPhone side of their business should be it’s own company, it would become the 11th largest firm on the planet.
Trefis based their findings on the fact that Apple is currently worth a market valuation of $391 billion, with the iPhone making up 53.5% of that number or the equivalent of $209 billion, just outside the top ten reach of AT&T and IBM.
Other firms just ahead of the iPhone? Microsoft ($262bn), Exxon Mobil ($349bn) and mining company BHP ($236bn).
Of course Apple would never break the iPhone side of their business into it’s own organization, but it does show the extreme importance of the device on the company’s bottom line.
