A Pawn Stars death rumor is making the rounds. Thankfully Chumlee Russell is not dead. An article on another website outlined the details of his death and discovery. It is unclear whether the article was intended to be a joke. However, the unfortunate rumor has fooled more than a few fans.
The details, as presented by Internet Chronicle , are an obvious fabrication . It states that Chumlee was found dead by “Big Hoss” Harrison on Tuesday morning. They explain the cause of death as an overdose of marijuana.
As explained by Brown University , while marijuana can cause some medical issues, “It is virtually impossible to overdose from marijuana , which sets it apart from most drugs.”
The impossibility of a marijuana overdose is addressed in the Internet Chronicle article. It is explained that the Chumlee was “rigged up to 90 vaporizers,” which were repeatedly loaded “with the stickiest and most potent of marijuana available on the market.”
Despite the ludicrous circumstances behind the Pawn Stars death rumor, it has persisted for nearly a month.
As reported by MSN , two weeks after the phony death announcement , Chumlee participated in the Golden Nugget Pawn Shop Slot Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It should be noted that the Internet Chronicle seems to specialize in spreading false rumors of celebrity death. Previous they announced the deaths of Selena Gomez, Lil Wayne, Amanda Bynes, Ron Jeremy, Justin Bieber, and Akon. They also previously reported that Chumlee was arrested for possession of seven pounds of marijuana, which was another unfounded and unverified rumor.
Adding fuel to the fire, Chumlee posted the following message to his Twitter account just over an hour ago:

Even Chumlee himself is in on the joke and may be making matters worse. At least he is able to maintain a sense of humor about the situation. The latest Pawn Stars death rumor doesn’t seem to want to die.
