‘Walking Dead’ Actor Appears On Two TV Shows At The Same Time

Actor Dallas Roberts achieved the unique distinction Sunday night of appearing on two popular prime-time television shows at the same time.

Roberts, who is apparently finally getting some significant mainstream recognition after years in the acting profession, portrays “Milton” on rating powerhouse The Walking Dead and “Owen,” the younger brother of Julianna Margulies, on The Good Wife — and both series aired against each other at 9 pm Eastern.

According to the New York Post , Roberts describes his season three character on the zombie apocalypse show as follows:

“I sort of gathered information about Milton the way viewers are gathering it — one scene at a time, one word at a time, one script at a time.

“He’s in the governor’s inner circle and he’s an advisor . . . he’s in sort of the research arm . . . but I’m not sure he’s a guy who would have managed to survive as long as he has had he not found himself in league with the governor — or until he proves he can make himself valuable.”

In Sunday night’s episode, Milton — who is a scientist of some sort in the town of Woodbury — unsuccessfully tried to prevent “Mr. Coleman,” a pancreatic cancer victim, from fully reanimating as a zombie. Mr. Coleman was quickly dispatched by Andrea when it appeared that Milton’s experiment was a failure. Milton’s character admitted to Andrea that he didn’t initially grasp the magnitude of the zombie apocalypse because he is the only child of deceased parents and before everything fell completely apart, he worked from home as a telecommuter.

“I feel certain that, unless you count the late-night reruns of Law & Order , this is the first time two prime-time episodes of shows that I’m in are showing side by side,” Roberts said.

The so-called mid-season finale of The Walking Dead airs next Sunday night.

If you’re a Walking Dead fan, do you think of Milton is a good guy, a bad guy, or somewhere in between?
