It appears that WWE superstars Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman might not be finished with one another just yet. On Friday night, the two rivals met once again, this time in another huge match at a WWE live event. The two competitors have seen several matches during the past year, including an Ambulance Match and the WWE Universal Championship Fatal Four-Way at SummerSlam 2017 . However, Friday night featured yet another stipulation match between the two competitors, which gave the fans in attendance a look at one of WWE’s top rivalries in some time.
As reported by Top Rope Press , the superstars from the Raw roster were part of the live WWE Saskatoon event in Canada on Friday evening. Fans were treated to a variety of matchups including current feuds and championship bouts. Kalisto defended his new Cruiserweight title against former champ Enzo Amore, while The Miz retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Jason Jordan. There was even a women’s tag team match with Alexa Bliss teaming up with Alicia Fox. However, the main event would give fans in attendance one more match to witness between Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns. The two would battle in a Last Man Standing match, something they have seen quite a bit.
The rules of the match are simple as the winner is the first one to beat up their opponent to the point they can’t answer a 10 count from the referee. Plenty of superstars in the history of the company have been involved in these types of matches including The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and John Cena. However, Friday night it was time for “The Big Dog” and “The Monster Amongst Men” to have at it again.
Top Rope Press reported that Reigns emerged victorious from the match in Saskatoon, meaning that Strowman was unable to get to his feet to answer a 10-count. Details on how the win occurred seem scarce, but various fans posted photos and videos to Twitter. In one fan’s tweet, Reigns is shown delivering his trademark “Drive-by dropkick” on the side apron and then requesting the ref to start the count as Strowman lays on the outside.
This isn’t the first time Reigns has been involved in one of these matches. In fact, he battled The Big Show in one at Extreme Rules 2015 and was the winner there. More recently, he and Strowman fought in a Last Man Standing match on Raw . Unfortunately, Reigns was on the losing side there due to a run-in from Samoa Joe. Now, Reigns has a win over Strowman in that type of match, although not on TV or during a pay-per-view.
The two competitors seem to compete in the Last Man Standing matches quite a bit as they’ve been involved in these particular contests at different live events. Basically, it seems the idea is to give fans around the globe a good opportunity to see these two rivals up close and in a heated battle. At the WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2017 pay-per-view, Strowman and Reigns will be on opposite sides of the ring again, this time in a big tag team match including The Shield on Reigns’ side. They’ll take on The Miz with Sheamus, Cesaro, and Strowman.
Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman will also compete inside a steel cage for the first time in their careers very soon. WWE announced that the match will arrive for fans on next week’s Raw . Most likely, it will give yet another huge battle between these stars in their ongoing feud. However, one has to think it could also be a setup for The Miz and his crew to attack The Shield inside the cage.
