Simon Cowell is leaving his still-married girlfriend Lauren Silverman alone for a while.
Just weeks after the 36-year-old Silverman revealed that she’s expecting a baby with Cowell, the X Factor host has left for a yachting trip to the South of France — alone.
A source close to the couple said Simon Cowell was getting a bit tired of the drama between Lauren and her husband , Simon’s onetime friend Andrew Silverman. The source said Simon has been in contact with Lauren since her divorce drama heated up, but “won’t see Lauren in person until things calm down.”
Simon Cowell still plans to move in with Lauren, the source adds, but for now she’ll be on her own to go to doctor’s checkups and handle her divorce case.
“He cares about her and has been checking in on her and the baby,” the source said. “He still encourages Lauren to quickly figure things out with Andrew so they can move forward with their divorce.”
Late last month Simon was named in divorce papers filed by Andrew SIlverman, who says that Cowell broke up his marriage by getting his wife pregnant while they were still together. Reports had initially said that the Silvermans were in the midst of splitting up by the time she and Simon started hooking up.
“She was definitely unhappy in her marriage and it’s been a while that the marriage was not great. Andrew is a very nice guy but all marriages don’t last,” a source told People.
Simon Cowell hasn’t spoken publicly about the situation, but in past interviews said he has no plans of having children.
“God, no. I couldn’t have children,” he once said. “With kids, you’ve got a routine you can’t escape from.”
But he now seems have changed his tune. Sources say Simon Cowell is happy in his relationship with Lauren Silverman as he prepares to become a father.
