Heather Thomson claims she quit her role on The Real Housewives of New York City in order to focus more on her business and life at home with a family, but according to an OK! Magazine report on September 14, there may be more to the story .
Below is what a source revealed to the magazine on Monday.
“Heather is a very proud person and has no intention of letting her relationship drama play out on the show. So she’s taking a step back to focus on her husband.”
Heather Thomson joined the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 5, along with Carole Radziwill and Aviva Drescher. At the time, the women were brought to the show to replace Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, Cindy Barshop, and Alex McCord, who weren’t asked back after filming Season 4. Then, after filming wrapped on Season 7 of the Bravo reality series, Heather Thomson announced she would not be returning to the show for its upcoming, but yet-to-be-confirmed, eighth season.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Heather Thomson’s exit from The Real Housewives of New York City was first reported back in July, but not confirmed until last week. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight at that time, Heather Thomson explained her decision to remove herself from the show.
“The reality of it that I just can’t do it anymore,” Heather Thomson said in the statement last Tuesday. “I have to focus on the things that are really, really important in my life and that’s my family and my business. While I’m filming the show I also am running a multi-million dollar business, and it takes away a lot of my time from the company.”
“My third year I kind of figured out where I was with the women. There was a beginning, middle and end for everything, and for me, that was the end. The opportunity, the experience — it was all amazing while it lasted.”
Heather Thomson continued on, explaining that because of the way Bravo casts the show, she was often plagued by on-screen drama with people she “wouldn’t normally hang out with.” For example, claimed Heather Thomson, she and Ramona Singer often butted heads due to their lack of common interests.
“Ramona [Singer] is not someone that I think if we met socially, either of us would gravitate towards one another… we overcame our differences.”
Heather Thomson has yet to confirm or deny her alleged marital troubles.
