Rumor has it that Prince Harry is very close to popping the question to his Suits star girlfriend, Meghan Markle. Since Pippa Middleton and James Matthews tied the knot last week, all attention has turned to the young prince and royal watchers are certain that an engagement announcement will be made very soon.
The couple have been together since last summer, when they were introduced by a mutual friend and went public in the fall of last year. Markle has since been spending more and more time at Kensington Palace and has taken various steps that make it clear that she is preparing to make the royal life her main focus.
The beautiful humanitarian made headlines when she shut down her lifestyle site The Tig and is reportedly possibly ready to make her exit from the hit legal drama for which she has become best known. The executive producer of Suits raised eyebrows when he announced that Markle’s character would have a tough decision to make, which may include leaving the law firm at which she works. This all suggests a full exit from the hit show for Meghan.
As to when Prince Harry may propose to the actress, sources say that the royal is waiting until Markle feels more comfortable with the lifestyle that goes along with being associated with the monarchy. The Cut shared details offered up by Ingrid Seward, a royal expert.
“According to Majesty ‘s Ingrid Seward, the prince doesn’t want to ‘hurry things’ before getting down on one knee. ‘He wants her to acclimatize to it all. It’s such a whole different world to move into — there’s so much to get used to.’”
Markle and the prince have been stepping out more and more as a couple and seem to be done hiding from the paparazzi. Leading up to Pippa Middleton’s wedding, there were fears that should Meghan attend the ceremony with the prince, she would steal the spotlight. Clearly Markle opted to be absent from the ceremony to respect the sister to the Duchess of Cambridge on her big day. Prince Harry did attend solo and later was said to have driven a great distance back to the palace where he collected Meghan Markle for the evening reception.
Sources have shared that Prince Harry is keen to have Meghan by his side more permanently, especially when it comes to various charity events which they are both passionate about. A source spoke with People about the nature of the relationship between Markle and her prince , stating “Despite the distance, the media attention and everything else, there’s a real ease to their relationship. It just works. They are deeply happy.”

Prior to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry had admitted that he has found dating as a royal a great challenge seeing as he is ever in the spotlight. His previous relationships have fallen apart mainly due to the women he was paired up with having not been used to ongoing media scrutiny. Meghan Markle is seemingly perfect for the role as significant other to the royal seeing as she is more-than-used to being in the spotlight and knows the reality of being at the center of a media circus.

It was only earlier this month that Meghan and Harry finally stepped out making their first intentional public appearance as a couple. The two were photographed in a loving embrace at a polo match where Markle also cheered Harry on while he participated.
Will the two be engaged before the end of the year? Royal experts say it is very likely, but that Prince Harry is being a gentleman and allowing Meghan time to become accustomed to the royal lifestyle.
