It’s official: Firefox 3 is ready for release.

Mozilla has finally set the date for its long-awaited updated version. The browser will be available for download next Tuesday, June 17. It’s been in development for nearly three years.

The programmers are hoping to set a world record for the most downloads of a single program in a single day.

They’ve also put out a full Field Guide to Firefox 3 that walks you through all the added and changed features. Mozilla’s Deb Richardson has a good look at the highlights in her blog.
