Teacher Lauren Patterson Found Dead In Doha, Two Men Arrested

British school teacher Lauren Patterson was found dead in the desert after attending a night club in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Tragically, she had only just returned to Doha the day before she was killed, having attended her grandmothers funeral in the U.K.

Lauren, who was just 24, was last seen at the Doha nightclub talking to two men; she subsequently vanished.

The two men, who were locals from the city, were arrested by the police authorities and are being held in jail for the time being. After Lauren disappeared, a frantic campaign by family and friends took to social media to try to locate her whereabouts.

After a 40 hour-long search her boyfriend, James Grima, posted a message on Facebook confirming the dreaded news that his girlfriend was dead. He posted:

I can’t believe that it had to end this way Lauren, really I don’t. I was so happy that I had finally found someone that could my change my life so much, and in such a positive way too – Rest In Peace babe, I will always look up at the sky cause you always were the brightest star and always will be.

The announcement was followed by floods of tributes to Lauren Patterson, who was said to be a “truly amazing” teacher and woman.

Alison Patterson, Lauren’s mother, flew to Doha to identify her daughter’s body. She wrote in a post online about Lauren: “She was truly a remarkable girl, my rock, always there for everyone. I know she’s in heaven now in her Daddy’s arms.”

In another heart wrenching post, Lauren’s best friend, Emma Nye wrote: “What an incredible best friend. Can’t handle the hurt in my heart. I love you so much. Will never forget all the hilarious memories we have. Be good up there!”

It remains to be seen what were the events leading up to the murder of teacher Lauren Patterson. The local police authorities are conducting a full investigation into the incident.
