Xbox Live Gold goes free this weekend

This weekend on Xbox Live, the gates are being opened to the unruly, frothing masses. That’s right: beginning Friday November 26th, Microsoft is making Xbox Live Gold free to all for the Thanksgiving weekend.

That means any Xbox Live Silver cheapskates members will have full access to online multiplayer gaming, so expect some potentially … interesting new voices to appear in your next few rounds of Black Ops or Medal of Honor.

In addition to access to Xbox Live Gold, Microsoft is sharing Zune music content over the weekend, including the latest video from N.E.R.D (featuring Latino songstress Nelly Furtado) and tracks from Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, and Far East Movement. Just try and hold me back.
