Kevin Love Injury Update: T’Wolves Star Hopes To Return In March, Play In Last 15-20 Games

Barring any additional unforeseen setbacks, Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love will return to action mid-to-late March to close out the remainder of the 2013 season with the team.

Love, who is hoping to playing in the T’Wolves last 15-20 games, underwent surgery to fix a fractured right hand in January. It was his second time this year he suffered the injury and he didn’t go under the knife after the first break.

“This is all going to depend on what the doctor says and where my healing is at and how I feel,” said Love, who said his hand definitely has healed better this time around. “I’d love to get back to the team. We play a lot of good teams the final 15-20 games. But I don’t know when that’s going to be when I’m going to be cleared. I’m just hopeful that I’m going to come back sooner than later.”

Prior to his injury, Love was averaging 18.3 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. Without his presence on the court, the Timberwolves have struggled to win games and currently sit with unremarkable 20-33 record.

Though it’s too late for Minnesota to make the playoffs, Love’s return to the court — along side flashy point guard Ricky Rubio, who returned from an ACL injury in December — should give Timberwolves’ fans a more enjoyable show as well as hope for the upcoming 2013-2014 NBA season.

Kevin Love said his next evaluation on his hand will be the first or second week in March.
